Franklin County Fair will take place July 18-24 in Hilliard

Mix of traditional and new events with expanded Family and Military Days

HILLIARD, OHIO (June 1, 2022) – Beginning Monday, July 18, and running through Sunday, July 24, the Franklin County Agricultural Society (FCAS) will host its 105th Franklin County Fair in Hilliard, Ohio. The group has organized a variety of attractions including traditional fair favorites, character meet and greets, a ninja experience, monster truck thrill show, and much more!The seven-day event will be held at the Franklin County Fairgrounds at 5043 Northwest Parkway in Hilliard, Ohio. “Our 105th Franklin County Fair is a reflection of the wonderful and diverse communities that make up our county. From agriculture to art, from entertainment to education - this year’s Fair showcases it all,” says Gary Fellure, president, FCAS. “Our volunteer board has worked tirelessly to create a safe, family-friendly event with attractions that appeal to all ages and interests. We can’t wait to welcome guests through our gates!”

A revamped and expanded Family Fun Day will take place on Wednesday, July 20, offering discounted ride wristbands for $15. Other highlights this day will include touch-a-truck sponsored by the Franklin County Engineer’s Office; character meet and greets with Elsa, Spiderman and Pete the Cat; the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Kids’ Tent; Chef Battles with Cooking Caravan; an escape room experience in the Historical Village by Eerie Escape Rooms; a Drive 4 Cash contest in the grandstand by Faith Driving School; Science on a Stick with Dr. Bob Horton; eating contests; read alouds; and much more! Also new this year, the Fair will host the Ninja Experience, where parkour meets ninja warrior in a high-flying stage experience offered twice daily and free with Fair admission. Other free daily attractions include a hands-on Live Fishing Experience, the Magic of David Anthony, strolling performances from larger-than-life robots Max Power and Nitro and rides on The Magical Train by Sheetz.Popular returning grandstand events will feature harness racing (July 18), KOI Dirt Drag Racing (July 19), Central Ohio Truck Pull Circuit and Central Ohio Tractor Pullers Association (July 21), MTRL’s Monster Truck Thrill Show (July 22), and Smash It Demolition Derby (July 23). Classic county fair contests and events will take place all week and showcase the talent and effort of Franklin County youth within a range of livestock, cooking, gardening, art, and engineering projects. The annual Junior Fair Livestock Sale will be held Sunday, July 24, beginning at noon. Livestock buyers can choose to donate purchased meat to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, helping connect hungry neighbors to fresh, nutritious food. Those interested in participating must register in advance on the Fair website. Other notable events, include:

  • Food and beer enthusiasts can look forward to our Taste of the Fair event on Wednesday, July 20, from 7-9:30pm, featuring breweries and restaurants from across Franklin County. For an additional $10, fair guests can enjoy samples from the likes of Saucy Brew Works, Grove City Brewing Company, and many more - then cast a vote for their favorite in both the brew and food categories. 
  • Military Appreciation Day will take place Thursday, July 21, offering active military and veterans free admission with official government ID. Military guests can also obtain a single day ride wristband with official ID (non-transferable). Special events will be held throughout this day to honor those in service to our country, sponsored by Memorial VFW Post 4931.

DATES & HOURS OF OPERATIONMonday, July 18, through Sunday, July 24, 2022. Gates open 9am to 10pm Monday - Thursday; 9am to 11pm Friday & Saturday; and 9am to 7pm Sunday. Rides open daily at Noon (except Family Fun Day, July 20, rides will open at 11am).TICKET INFORMATIONDaily Admission –Tickets are available for purchase at all gates. Daily admission is $10 (children two and under are free). Parking is free and available in lots adjacent gates 3, 4 and 5.Pre Fair Ticket Sale – Tickets may be purchased for $9 now through July 17 at the fair office located at 4100 Columbia Street in Hilliard, open Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm. Rides - Unlimited ride wristbands are $20. Discounts – Unlimited ride wristbands will be on sale for $15 on Family Fun Day, Wednesday, July 20, and the final day of Fair, July 24. Active military and veterans receive free admission and free unlimited ride wristbands on Thursday, July 21, with valid government ID. Grandstand Events - Select grandstand events require an additional $10 ticket for bleacher or pit seating.
